BAH doesn’t return any results for Strasbourg (when selecting as the destination), and Basel only gives hotels in the city. Separate bookings it is.
I think you're right, I recall pricing nearby places too (BCN + Portaventura hotels)
Even for a hotel only BAH doesn't show any availability in Strasbourg.
We were in Basel last week, most efficient arrival I've experienced in any airport for a long time. You're probably aware, but you can get the shuttle bus to Gare Saint-Louis and the train from there rather than having to go to Basel SBB.
Apparently a train line serving the airport itself is in the work, but at least four years away from completion.
