Why does BA not open award seats at check inn ?

The Middle Easy is very seasonal - July is easy, September is not. GRU/GIG/EZE is much, much better now there is a 747 on the route - decent J and F availability. I got 2 F tickets to EZE for later this year - which still left 2 more available!

Dunno about the US or African routes.

Sadly, in comparison to LH and the Star Alliance generally BA's award availability is pretty rubbish in premium cabins. I guess that is the price we pay for a profitable airline with a decent up-front product.
NRT is a litle off route if you want to travel to far east ! About 3000 miles
And the availability to HKG is not better at all ! And if you want MFU to HKG is always 20-30 % more in "T" class than BKK or SIN ( at least from Germany )
The only destination where I get most time availability is DAC ! But from there it´s not easy to get cheap tickets to BKK.
Last year we made it to BA/EC gold and we have already 720 points for next years status. But if I see this bad award invantory , I will not go longer for BA.
LH changed their M&M rules ( which was also bad ), but they still have availability on every flight in each class of service. One has only to book it long enough in time.
What should I collect miles on an airline ( now we have 1 million in our household account ) when I have no chance to spent them.
And the only real good value on BA is to buy WT+ "T" class and MFU to "U".

Why does BA not open available upgrades at check inn. So they have the seats for revenue pax up to the last minute and could easy use each single seat if one wants to upgrade 45 min bevore departure. This does LH too, even with SWU´s from United. May be that´s a question to the Ba lurker.
