My parents need to visit my city for medical reasons and plans to book a hotel next to the hospital. Can I use my Marriot account to make reservations for them, check-in at the hotel, add their name to the guest list, but not stay with them myself?

I have checked with the hotel and they said if I add 2 additional guests to the reservation then there will be an extra charge because each reservation is intended for 2 adults only. I wonder if I could just add 1 name, say my dad, to the guest list? The reservation will still be just for 2 people, and only 2 people will stay there. I mainly want to make sure this doesn't cause any issue for my account since I have a couple of important stays coming up later this year. But if I could take advantage of the extra stays from my parents that would be great.

I've searched on the forums and it seems I should be able to do it. Worst case is just add both parent's name to the guest list and pay the extra.
