For the welcome gift I accepted the petit fours, which were great- and there was an additional spread of snacks waiting for me in the room. There was also a scavenger hunt in the hotel room ending with a nice surprise gift (I won't spoil the surprise for those who might partake in the future!
Be sure to try Gaa, a fantastic Indian restaurant with tasting menu a few doors down.
I too will be back, this easily earned a spot in my Bangkok hotel rotation.
I forgot to mention that "scavenger hunt".
Although I appreciate the nice thoughts, I really do not like the price item, frequently seen in the streets of Thailand.
I would also make the hunt more complicated.
The inside of the Emerald Suite looks a lot like what you see on the pictures of the Emerald Studio, posted by KingCanute, but the room is separate from the living room.
"UASPG must be special!": although I have known a lot of people at the Marriott hotels of Thailand, over the years, I could not identify anybody that I knew at this property.
