After much fustration this tip worked for me "But Chrome does although you might need to put in your Exec No and not your E mail address followed by your BA Password."

after that it links and BA sends you a text password to your registered mobile.
Got lots of Avios to use up on Qatar Business/First hopefully.
Also easy to switch back to BA if unsuccessful on Qatar on redemptions
