FWIW, I briefly looked to into the possibility of private drivers. Seems like it's not so common in the Balkans as in cheap third-world countries; probably because driving is easier for tourists, and wages are higher making drivers expensive. I found websites of a couple companies who offered private drivers at like $300/day. I didn't look into it deeply, but if you're not bothered by that sort of price, it seems like a decent option if you don't want to hassle with driving but want the conveniences of driving.
