New Policy on Cabin Climate?

Has American Airlines changed their policy to allow for warmer cabin temperatures?

I fly fairly frequently on American Airlines. I’ve always liked the fact that they keep their planes very cool. I’m sure they received many complaints over the years about this. I realize there is no pleasing everyone all the time. But when one is cold, they can don a jacket, bring a blanket on board, etc. On the other hand, if one is in an uncomfortably warm environment there isn’t much that can be done. I was brought up to take personal responsibility for my comfort when flying, going to movie theaters, restaurants, or various other places that are often cool and to bring a cardigan, jacket, etc. I’ve often wondered if AA shared that common sense view and that’s why it seemed to be a company-wide policy to keep the cabin cool. I choose to fly AA for this reason when other airlines are available. I get headaches and feel uncomfortable when flying on Delta, for example.

However, over the past couple of months the planes are noticeably hotter. For example, on December 20th, a flight from Phoenix to Miami the plane was hot upon boarding. A few people complained. Finally the temperature was adjusted and people began clapping and cheering. I do realize that often planes are warm when boarding and the air cools after take-off. But AA planes are almost always cool when boarding.
