SFO-HKG was a regular revenue flight, then UA flew the aircraft empty to SIN presumably for maintenance, and with the maintenance complete now they're flying it empty to SFO to resume revenue service.
Is SIN a maintenance base? I thought HKG had that . . . which if so perhaps there was more freight revenue on offer from SIN, making that hop worthwhiile.
