Test it this way. If you told the agent at the Lounge that you had no intention of taking the BA flight, would s/he let you in to the Lounge? If you think the answer is "no", then arguably you are obtaining a benefit by a deception.
I get your point and I did expect a response like this. My conscience won't be an issue on this one, BA and friends have screwed me over sufficiently recently for me not to be too concerned about getting a little back and entering a lounge using a ticket I've bought. Not much worse than doing a TP run, mattress run, or guesting a stranger into a lounge.

If you write off the money and accept you have paid £50ish for some lukewarm food and a couple of beers then I do not see any deception.

Thanks, I'm not having any major conscience issues either. Happy to throw away the £50ish, I'd spend that in the terminal anyway on a couple of glasses of warm sauvignon and a stale cheese sandwich.
