I have a T3 flight booked with Delta that doesn't come with any kind of lounge access. I also have BA Gold status but have never had the opportunity to fly from T3 since gaining this, and unlikely to any time soon due to the destinations I usually fly to. I'd love to do a OW lounge crawl to see what I've been missing while stuck over in T5 with the mice!

Is there any reason why I couldn't buy a throwaway BA ticket to Europe from T3 that departs at a similar time to my Delta flight just to gain access into the OW lounges at T3? I've found a flight for £50ish a couple of hours after I'll have flown, which I'm happy to pay and lose, but just worried if there would be any repercussions. I could check in online, but would the lounges know I hadn't used my BA boarding pass to pass through security? Would there be any access time restrictions, eg 2-3hrs before? Would it start a manhunt when I didn't board the BA flight?!

I'm sure someone else must have done this if it is possible and considered it if it's not, so any advice for or against this is welcomed. Thanks!
