I don't believe this is true, I've never heard of any slot restriction at MIA and there is no mention of it on the FAA page. Even if there were, many of the SA flights, especially the longer ones leave late at night so would most likely not be impacted.

Which are these airlines that provide better service than US carriers? I'm no defender of them, but of the SA carriers I've flown, (LA, G3, OB, AV) plus some smaller ones in a mix of Y and C they were decidedly mediocre at best.
