LAX-HKG in the past used to be easy to clear from memory. The biggest trap is that most Y fares on CX don't earn for AA.

Aside from that, HKG is one of the easiest airports to transit around and has some of the best lounges out there. Even for a OWS/ AA Plat, the Qantas one and Cathay Bridge are my pick.
