I've been flying American for the past year because my daughter moved to Dallas. I'm in Dallas now and was supposed to fly out of DFW to PBI on flight 2640 at 2:53 today. I received a text saying "your flight 2640 has been cancelled, we are working on rebooking you or click here to rebook". I went on the app and they had flights going to FLL (our car is at PBI) or a flight that would've got us in past 11:00 p.m. so I booked an 11:00 a.m. to PBI for tomorrow morning. I emailed AA asking them to please inform me as to why my flight was abruptly cancelled. They sent me back an email already saying they were sorry for the cancellation and they deposited 5000 miles into my AA account. They did not however tell me why my flight was cancelled! I appreciate the miles but I really want to know why the flight was cancelled. There were storms in the morning but by 2:53 the weather was fine. I also looked at the flight status and the flight from PBI to DFW after our intended arrival was also cancelled. Is there a way to find out why a flight was suddenly cancelled? TIA
