You'll probably get a good range of opinions here, given the range of variables: lounges (better in T3); flight crew (likely better on BA); hard product (toss-up in my mind); food (personally I prefer AA menus, but many go the other way). In my view, there's nothing in those factors that would outweigh an extra $300 for BA. But to me the real killer fact is that AA 87 is 97% on-time, and is often significantly early, while BA 295 is only 53% on-time (averaging almost an hour late), and is very rarely noticeably early.
