My kid recently stayed in a Best Western in the US. OLCI page asked for the expected check in time, but included options earlier than the standard 3:00 with “based on availability.” So he selected 12 noon and got there between 12 and 1. Front desk said the room was available but there was a $20 charge to check in early. Even for a lower hotel chain this felt totally wrong, especially because there was no mention on the OLCI page.
