Since there are no published rules -- this leads to this type of issue.... As someone who has done EXACTLY what you have and had zero issues I am quite confident you will have no issues if the upgrades have already been pushed through. As many can attest on this forums I have upgraded their flights with my PP -- and some have done the same for me - as recently as last month....
