(not sure if that is actually the case of this AS MAX9, but I have seen maintenance swap out a coach seat cushion during boarding, and it seemed to be held in place by velco. I was a few rows away, so perhaps there was something else in addition to Velcro to hold it in place… but it’s not bolted down like a door plug. Also, that was a UA 757-300, with I think older cushier seat cushions… )
Yeah, velcro. I've had plenty of seat cushions come up or partially up. (Presumably the seat cushion wouldn't come off so easily if someone were sitting on it, not that I would want anyone to be in 26A in that situation!)
