Changes to AA's Travel Credit / Refund policy

Have a flight credit that expires next week & looked this afternoon at some different possibilities.

Was there a recent roll-out with significant changes? I might've missed it & haven't heard anything, but am taken aback by the changes I see this afternoon.

Saw AA is now calling Business/First 'Premium'. After selecting a flight, options come up for different pricing options. One for 'Full refund to Travel Credit' - the price displayed when that day's flight are listed - and 'Full Refund to original form of payment' for an additional charge. I looked at three different city pairs. The additional cost for return to original form of payment ranged from $45 to $300. No apparent pattern or rationale.

There's also boarding shanigans. There's some wording that seems to differentiate a 'business' seat (by fare class) from a 'first' seat, and shows a business class seat may board in group 1 or 2, while a first class seat boards in group 1. And the verbiage for purchasing a 'first seat' says 'choose our largest most comfortable seat'. While a 'business seat' says ' choose a larger, more comfortable seat'. Like this might the new premium economy? Even though it implies your selecting business?

Is there an active thread on these changes? Has anyone experience yet with the changes?
