Agree, would have been certainly a more dire situation for passengers at a higher cruising altitude and especially with less people wearing safety belts. All those horrible accidents were FA and passengers have been sucked out of the airplane to their deaths in the past....

From the photos, I'm no engineer at all, but it certainly looks like whatever screws/mechanism that are at placed around that plug gave way. You can definitely see how they are involved with the fastening of that plug.

Anyone find that door? It isn't like it is in the middle of rural Nevada.
