IC Maldives is exceptional for points redemption.

I always thought it was unobtainable but in fact no. I have managed to book there twice for a 26-28 day window bar two payable nights. It may take some booking and adding to over a few weeks but it is absolutely doable. Incredible value I thought.

If you are flexible with your window of 'when' (we went end of October and for most of November last year) and you have the points, then it's a fantastic deal even at 120k points per night .... this place entry level nights are about £1k starting price.

It is an 'all club' place and the club package is not bad. If you an RA, they are also good with upgrades. We ended up with a beach front 2 level villa.

Service is immaculate. In room amenities and extras are very solid ... refreshed every day. The transport connection prices are a little high but you'd expect that. The F&B prices were not as bad as I imagined and again quality very solid and the all day dinner were very good at responding to individual requests not on menu ... in fact they rather relished it.

Management support was also excellent in responding to special requests etc.

Opinion seems divided as too 'how long' is long enough there. And I met folks who went there several times a year for long stints. But also folks who considered a week more than enough.

If you have a 7 digit bag of points then I'd say this is the apex of points cashing. I had well over 5 mill points and I seem to recall it cost in about 2.5 mill when booked. And yet the maths doesn't quite stack on that one. We paired it with 4 nights at IC Doha City which were payable and surprisingly good value. And again exceptional RA treatment. Was a nice contrast and a wake up after best part of a month on the island
