For anyone curious, nonstop flights to Venezuela from the US on all air carriers were suspended by the US government in 2019. This is why Laser Airlines (a Venezuelan carrier) had to set up a Dominican subsidiary (Red Air), and flights between Miami and Caracas make a stop in La Romana, DR. (La Romana was chosen because it's not a popular destination so that they wouldn't have to serve very much OD traffic to La Romana. From what I've seen only one or two people get off at most on most MIA-LRM flights and everyone else stays on for the flight to Caracas)
And if anyone misses the MD80s, Red Air flies ex-AA MD80s with the original AA interiors intact!
