We had our first international flight out on Monday morning and I was excited about using the eGates for the first time especially as departures and the security line were very busy at 6.30am on 1 Jan.

The departure process for everyone seemed to be unchanged however. The same turn left/right at the bottom of the escalators after security. The same signs for Thai passports for the few eGates just there on the left. And the same queues and manual processing of stamps for all us foreigners.

I've scanned through this thread already. What have I missed about all this excitement about foreigners being able to use eGates to exit BKK from mid-December?
They are at the bottom of the escalators at immigration and are next to the escalators. There were some in the "Foreign Passport" section, So if you turn right and immediatly go 180 degrees back on yourselves at the side of the escalator there were 4/5 gates their, with the normal booths being beyone this. Noone pointed anyone towards the e-gates a week ago when i left and everyone just lined at the normal booths, which to be fair were fairly quick anyway.
