Okay, that does make sense. I guess I just never considered it. I've had at least one, known international flight in the upcoming year pretty much every year that I've been DM/had DM CBs, so it always made sense to select GUCs for the upcoming year. I actually like the change, because the expiration date actually worked against me, if I made my CB selections upon reaching DM rather than waiting until the end of the year (or later).
