Yes the gap between the rates has narrowed a lot since the recent devaluation. So unless you want to squeeze as much value out of your dollar as you can get it's not really worth losing sleep over.
While all crystal balls are pretty much broken (i.e,. predicting today what tomorrow's exchange will bring) right now, the Visa exchange rate (assuming no conversion fee) is just over $1000. And not currently paying hotels on credit cards is not wise, as you'll have to pay VAT otherwise. That said, many small places will only accept cash, and I've seen quite a few "No credit, cash or debit only" signs, and many places will give a cash discount. (A recent dinner at a well-established place was 10%.)
