BA can’t sell standalone domestic flights in Japan, you’ll have to book with JAL if booking as a regular cash customer. For redemptions, there’s an issue on some routes, usually because the taxes are so low that ba.com can’t cope with them. If redemption inventory is available you can call to book, the fee will be waived as you can’t do it online and it should be a quick transaction.
