The nearby Doubletree is ok, but it's an older hotel than the HP, noisier bc of the lack of carpets in parts of the rooms, has unengaged/dismissive management (partly bc they focus on the adjoining Hilton), small elevators, and limited elite benefits. Diamonds get a free bf and two drink coupons (no happy hour by the pool anymore). The bf at the Doubletree is good and the pool is larger than the HP, but I like the HP "rooftop" bar that has live entertainment some nights. You can get a small elite discount when ordering food and some drinks at the HP rooftop bar (prices are reasonable to begin with there) and at night food in the galley in the lobby is discounted. The Doubletree is usually more expensive than the HP, esp. if you use the Freelancer rate at the HP.

Hyatt points are worth a lot more than Hilton points (mb 4x as much), but there are good Hilton promos sometimes. I don't chase Hilton status so I need and look for Hyatt stays and the HP Suk. is usually a good price. Since I value Hyatt points at 2c per point (I know others value Hyatt points less), I usually end up paying at the HP Suk. instead of using points, since paying earns me points worth about 20% of the price (when using the Hyatt cc). The HP has a nicer lobby than the Doubletree nearby, but you do get 2 cookies at the Doubletree (though sometimes you have to ask for the 2nd one). The HP has had some bf food cutbacks lately, but it's still good.
