I did the same in November on separate tickets. I was able to check in at the First Wing, where I also got them to do a SDC for me to an earlier ZRH flight. 7+ hours in the CCR would have been a bit much of a good thing. At both the checkin counter, and where I scanned my boarding pass, I was told to make sure to visit the CCR. At the CCR desk I did need to provide the SEA-LHR ticket.
I've also done the same in the past when connecting to a flight in Y to ZRH on separate tickets.
