I'm still arguing with myself whether it was rude of me to give such direct and honest feedback.
Have seen a few complaints about food prices. Maybe this is a recent trend, as I felt it was on par with other resorts (if not better). There were some aspects I liked about the food there--- digging my feet in the sand and enjoying a catch of the day cooked with traditional spices--- that was where it was at for me. Breakfast choices not so superb, and overall variety was lacking (though being as small as it is, not sure how much I can blame them)

So what is it about the clientele then that rubs you the wrong way? Not to say either had any level of actual "crowdedness", but at each resort's peak, I ultimately saw more people in one place at St. R than at PH.

Yeah, it could be much improved. I'm taking a chance on Calala later this year, if only to validate/invalidate to myself the notion that it's the best property you can redeem Hyatt points on.

Then again, when you spend that kind of money, I would also look outside of Marriott. There are a lot of great luxury hotels in the Maldives.
Haha, well in this case, no need to "audit" beyond a quick glance. 17,000 of 255,000 points posted. At the conclusion of my ordeal I got the other 238,000 plus the 75K for the ordeal itself.
As for the money spent, it was an anomoly since there were 3 seperate parties (Wife and I, Aunt, and Sister). That was on top of 6 nights of point redemptions. Room upgrade costs and chartering Norma for a day trip probably made up half of it.
