Heading to Buenas Aires next Wednesday - Question about Spend
Hi -
I've been doing my reasearch about how much inflation has been taking over the Peso down there, and it's better to use the Blue Dollar Rate than their Bank Rate. I read about how you can send yourself money to BsAs using Western Union.
My question is - can I send myself money using Western union while I'm in Buenas Aires? I'm staying in an AirBnB in Palmero for 7 days and really have no idea how much money I'll need while I'm there...
These are my thoughts:
1 - Bring fresh $100 US Bills and exchange them in the "Cambios" - I'm staying in Palmero so not sure how many are around there - and also, dont want to get robbed/scammed.
2 - Send myself $1000 to myself from the US to Argentina via Western Union and pick it up when I get there (looks like I'm getting over 1000 pesos per $1 US Dollar that way (but I'd need to make sure I spend all of the pesos when I'm there as I read you can't convert back to dollar when you leave)
3 - While I"m IN Argentina, send myself money to myself using Western Union as I need it - that was I would be more sure to not send myself too much that I can't spend it all before I leave
4 - Use my VISA card - I read you get rebated back the Blue Dollar Rate (is that true?)
Thanks all!
