Are you kidding? I am not a vegetarian and I do not want to eat a vegetarian meal and will not. BA did not charge me nor any passenger less for its services. I paid several thousands for a ticket with certain expectations and I be damned if I settle for less. BA doesn't with its fares and I will not for its services.
I have been on a few BA flights looked at the menu and thought I don't particularly like what is on offer and thought oh well. I have done the same in restaurants where I have had no choice but to go for. On a flight when this happens I decide to eat at the other end. I have had no choice of AF, LH, FI as well and just got on with it.
Not sure if it still happens but there were often complaints about AA having cheese on everything by people that don't like cheese.
