Though I'd agree with your sentiments if they had no meal at all to offer, which happened to me once in the past. My request to take something from the Speedbird Café was refused and I was offered a packet of crisps from Euro Traveller, which just added to the insult - the suggestion that the snack from the back should be good enough. Anyway I sent in a complaint and got a £100 e-voucher for that. I'd guess a Club Europe meal is realistically worth about £10 or less, as a fancy supermarket ready meal, so I figure I did alright from that.
The irony being that it would have cost them less to simply allow you to have a meal from the Speedbird Cafe!
