Yes it's awful -- but there is also this weird touch of "shame" / "embarrassment" for my wife (which I get) -- don't expect anyone to understand but she really doesn't want to be around it.... In Japan mistakes like this just don't ever happen -- and when they do the treatment by the culture is very harsh....
