My wife and I are moving quite a bit of stuff back to NZ so we’ll have more baggage than normal.

We paid for an upgrade in the app for both segments. Domestic F for BHM-DFW and W (PE) for DFW-AKL. When the app offered the upgrade it said “Benefits: 2 Free Checked Bags” (among other benefits). Looking at the baggage page on AA’s website, my understanding is that we should now be entitled to 2 free bags, both at 70lbs. Domestic First comes with 2@70lbs, PE comes with 2 bags, and flights to NZ have a 70lb allowance for whatever number of complimentary bags you have regardless of class of service.

I just want the peace of mind of actually seeing our updated baggage allowance spelled out now that we’ve paid for the upgrade. The upgrade receipt isn’t a full receipt/eticket, but rather just a confirmation of the amount paid for the upgrade. The ticket number did change after upgrading. I’d like to get a new full receipt like I initially received that includes the baggage allowance.

Does anyone know how to do this, or any other way to see the baggage allowance for our ticket spelled out? My concern is getting to the airport and them saying you need to pay for the second bag despite the upgrade so I’m just wanting peace of mind before then.
You can breath easy. You are checking in Domestic First, connecting to long haul PE. Your 2 bags will be free.
