Korean Customer service and ID related things are always tricky - dig around their website MY PAGE section first, look for email change info and try to do it online first. If you call, then they'll probably want a mountain of documents and fax and blah blah.
I actually went to their website called the 1-800 number and asked me about my name birth date and the email it's Associated to. In my case the customer service representative told me to do it as this retrieve my account number go to my mom's email for the code and from there log into it then change it when I log in using the new password which I was able to do. One thing I find with the Korean Air skypass service staff they are able to solve my account update than Philippine Airlines did on my account
