Yes: you can eUpgrade that -- but not before the day of the flight. You may only request an upgrade with an Air Canada agent at the airport, or at the departure gate on your day of travel.
MY ISSUE:
I am flying:
MNL-NRT(On ANA)
NRT-YUL (On Air Canada)
The NRT-YUL is a codeshare with ANA but operated by AC.
I am at the check-in counter at NRT and AC is not able to apply the e-upgrades on NRT-YUL. They have called ANA, called the supervisor, and I even called AC concierge, and no one knows what to do. I am stuck sitting in Economy for a 12 hour flight.
The AC agent called ANA and they can upgrade me for $8500 CAD, but I can’t use the eupgrades.
I am thinking of paying the $8500 then complaining to AC that I wasn’t able to use the e-upgrades and request a full refund.
What do you think?
I certainly hope you didn't shell out $8500 because you for sure won't get that back from AC or NH. Also, as is said many times on this forum, the only way to ensure not being stuck in economy for 12 hours is booking a business class ticket.
