I think I did around 40 AS metal segments last year and it's all over the map. It's late more than early but sometimes its REALLY early... as in, I leave the lounge and show up 5 mins after scheduled boarding time and they are on "D" and the bins are near full. I'm sure there is another thread for this but it's REALLY annoying how the GAs call things..... mainly, at the start. Sometimes it's Elderly/people needing help.... then people with kids.... then military.... then FC/100K..... then A. Then, other times all those groups are thrown together and 50+ people rush to get on at once. Just another in the long line of inconsistencies that plague AS. I am generally a very happy AS camper but the implementation of the "policies" for a company of this size is a joke. McDonalds succeeds by turning out the same crappy food over and over again. Even if AS boarded planes in a dumb but predictable and consistent manner a lot of us would be a lot happier.
