I went out to the airport, only place with a ticket office for trading in the TCV. Instead of being taken care of by the agent, I was told to use the phone on the counter to call delta direct and book the reservation (why didn't the telephone agent tell me that yesterday?). Anyhow, I call to make the reservation -- ONT-BUD for Presidents' day weekend.
I get the reservation, but the TCV won't be applicable because it is endorsed DL/DL Connection/SONG only. I suggest to the telephone agent that since the TCV is for less than 10% of the total price of the ticket and the reason I have the TCV is because of DL/Comair problems over Christmas, that it would make sense for DL to show some consideration. The agent puts me on hold for about 10 minutes while she contacts an international supervisor, and lo and behold, the reservation gets a notation to accept the TCV for the code share flights.
