Remember that miles/LP's are now credited based on the dollar value spent, not mileage flown, if booked through AA or BA. With this, it's very common for your outbound and return to have different values. You should take a look at the cost of your trip (minus the taxes/fees) and use that to determine how many miles you should have earned and ensure it is accurate.
