Based on my travel patterns, I'm someone who will achieve LTP comfortably but would find it very difficult to meet higher threshholds for LTT. I would think there are a lot of people like me who aren't willing to double their nights at Marriott for 10 years just to get United Silver and possible RC upgrades. (I say double the nights because I need 20 for Plat and 45 for Titanium since I have two Marriott CCs). For those that find a lot of value in Titanium, they are going to go for it anyway regardless of whether it gets them closer to LTT.
