Never flown on a BA metal based award in the past, but the AA miles required is nuts compared to BA, and its a FC on an old 747 (unfortunately not the new FC seats) and never flown true FC internationally

Asking because I am keeping my eyes open for a AA direct (to reduce fees) or BA on newer plane in Biz (seats are actually nicer than old FC it seems). TIA
All AAdvantage flight awards are now fully refundable. That includes the refund of any carrier surcharges paid.
