As mentioned, I thought so too. But I couldn't be sure. In an ideal world, a carrier might make this more clear so their potential passengers aren't left guessing. And while it might not be too difficult for an astute passenger to divine LATAM's true meaning, it would be far easier for a diligent LATAM employee to just fix their own website.

Could you offer a link to the exception for light fares on domestic or intra-South America fares? I couldn't find it on the LATAM site, nor benefits webpage (relevant section reproduced below).
