It’s a new year and new stuff to be done.

I created a new, modified spreadsheet to track my 2024 DL activity. No longer tracking MQS but still tracking MQM (towards 2MM), MQD, and RDM. MQD doesn’t matter for me but does for MrsSG. It’s important that she makes GM for SDC purposes.

I’m still kicking myself for not having credited my CO flights to NW from 2008 – 2011. Now I have 300K useless miles credited towards UA MM that would have been on DL and had me within a year or two of flying t hit 2MM. I did end 2023 with 627K MQM so I’ll be taking advantage of the 100K per year DM extension. I’m a DM for 2024 and have 6 years to get (please notice that I set get, not earn) 425K MQM to get to 2MM.

So it turns out that MQM runs will still be alive and well. SDC’s will be golden. I had my first trip planned for later this month and was delighting in the fact that I wouldn’t be caring about requalification and I could non-rev on wide open flights (a topic for a separate discussion). However, there was a really cheap main cabin fare available and I can SDC to a legal routing that doubles the MQM. Yes, it’s a longer trip but I don’t plan anything for travel days except travel, so I’ll just spend more time on a plane and in Sky Clubs. I could have quadrupled the MQM for double the fare with a different booked routing but that entailed a lot of northern US travel which I don’t like to mess around with at this time of year. I’ll save those for the milder weather.
