According to flight radar, BA5 LHR-HND tomorrow and it's return as BA6 on 5 Jan is showing as 789 instead of 777 club suite, is that normal or just an unfortunate switch?
Also, did BA6 take off from HND today 3 Jan? Flight radar showing no status, Haneda departures just show Gate Closed and Heathrow arrivals seems to think it's cancelled or arriving at 1921 depending on the page whilst Google shows something else?
I mentioned on the delays and cepancellations threat that I had serious doubts over a flight to HND yesterday, it wasn’t so much the getting there given the time it will take to arrive, but more the issues in trying to get a 77W back. Sure enough that played out today and a significant weight restriction seems to have caught global ops off guard, yet is bleeding obvious when you’ve lost the one runway you are more or less reliant on, never mind. So the weight restriction to depart runway 05 has caused issues for a 77W and required significant offloading. This couldn’t be sorted out prior to crew timing out, plus HND has been experiencing delays for obvious reasons.
So to get around the performance issues the B789 is being deployed until ops normal resumes.
