With such crappy performance, you would think that AC would train its staff to more proactively and consistently communicate causes for delays and revised ETDs. I mean, it's not that are exactly starved for practice. In my experience, pilots or FAs actually doing that or even apologizing for being late, are the exception, not the rule.

This wouldn't improve AC's OTP, but might improve how pax view or react to delays. And maybe, just maybe, reduce the stress noted by RangerNS above, especially for the majority of the flying public who are not as knowledgeable as all of us.
