As a mitigation strategy, people should book tickets on a more reliable airline.
I’m still waiting for anyone to show data on what the tangible results of this are, instead of just muttering vague… I’m not sure what the opposite of “platitude” is.
For example, AC’s OTP on my last twenty or thirty flights is definitely well below 50%, but mostly what that’s cost me is lounge time between flights, or half an hour of sleep after my evening YVR-YOW last week. For me personally, they’re nearly always late, but barely ever by very much.
There are many people who’ve had much more meaningful pain points from this, but when the only data we’re looking at is the over-under on 15 minutes, it’s impossible to tell whether “the highest chance of being stranded” is fact or the usual angry hyperbole.
I’d like to know more about “average delay time”, or “percentage of misconnects” to understand the actual effect of this, and to understand whether an angry response is under- or over-stating the problem.
