Corporate travel policies can be very restrictive.

I flew on the most expensive Y fare for a work trip last year because that's all that was within policy. I'd have taken a cheaper business fare that I knew was available but that was not on offer from our corporate travel system.

My company is doing its bit for BA's profits... and valuing preserving the employee pecking order more than cash.

We already had a discussion (moved off to another forum as it was nothing to do with BA) about a Major Accounting Firm putting many of its people in W rather than J. They're not the only one.
