  • IC nights = 50 (total IHG = 64)
  • 4 different ICs, 3 countries, 2 continents
  • IC qualifying spend = $10,311 (total IHG = $12,060)
For completeness, albeit irrelevant to RA renewal, I've earned 329,246 IHG points.
So it seems my stats were not enough. I received the pleb level "Ambassador Renewal" line on my account in the app yesterday. No Royal. I'm a bit surprised as my stats are not as low as some who have been renewed, and my bookings were largely high profit due to last minute booking well above standard rates. Maybe 'creature of habit' counts against me going back to the same places which they'll assume I will continue to do. I also wonder if they look at the number of non-IC stays I've made in locations with a viable IC option (~ 10 nights worth).

The renewal appeared only minutes after I activated my 40 night lounge access reward... assume this is coincidence.

Given I now have lounge access for 2 years, I have less need for RA as the lounge was the primary benefit... indeed it's the only reason I can stay a places like SG without breaking my company expenses policy. At least I will be able to keep staying there for a couple of years with the lounge access reward - one of the few hotels in SG with large enough rooms for keeping my bike and it's box in the room with me!

The minibar credit was nice when initially introduced, filling up my bag of items to exactly the entitled amount, but after covid so many hotels do mini bar on demand which I couldn't be arsed with so I've not used it recently. I'd probably have used the F&B credits more as I could choose they whisky I want at the bar instead of the crappy stuff in the room!
