I've stayed there several times since this hotel is the host of our local Science Fiction convention (Trinoc-coN). It has the feel of a fairly standard small Marriott but with oversized function space for the number of bedrooms, but I remember when it USED TO BE an Omni. I've usually had access to the Conceirge Lounge even when not staying on the Conceirge floor (as "Gold" and then once as "Silver" even - but that may have been because I was also working with the organization running the convention). I don't particularly like downtown Durham OUTSIDE of the hotel though.

The hotel is a short drive to Duke (East campus is closer than West campus). There are a couple of other hotels that may be closer to West campus, but not really within walking distance.
