SQ is one of the more generous airlines when it comes to award seats and upgrades. They also limit their premium seats only to Krisflyer members.
Note that SQ opens up more seats to passenger actually spending money on SQ as this is indeed a loyalty program to look after frequent flyers (and not after people transferring credit card points).
