Yes, I'm talking about the shift away from welcome amenities that are set up in the room in advance, separate from any welcome gift election, that are simply a nice bonus and welcome surprise usually accompanying a welcome note from management, not some kind of expected or listed elite benefit. They used to be fairly common outside North America but IME seem to have become increasingly rare, unfortunately, which is what I'm lamenting.
